Lisa Buttar

A learning and development professional with 15 years experience, I retrained as a Social Worker, qualifying in 2017. Having previously worked in Transitions and Learning Disabilities, as well as volunteering as a Trustee for Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service (previously Women’s Aid), I am currently a Principal Social Worker with North Northants Council, working in a busy and demanding front door service.

As a Practice Educator, I am passionate about supporting and developing students and Newly Qualified Social Workers to be the best they can be, helping to developing knowledgeable, confident and resilient Social Worker’s for the future. Also committed to my own development, I have recently finished my Approved Mental Health Professional training – whilst being a busy mum of 2! - and nervously await the results!

It is a privilege to be a Trustee for The Social Work Awards Charity and help promote and recognise excellent practice across the Country.
